Losing a child
Losing a child is perhaps the greatest disaster that can befall a person. The death of a child is meaningless, it hurts terribly and is completely unreal. Children should not die. Hours and days of shock and chaos will come – dreams and expectations have been suddenly shattered. The death marks the beginning of a painful time where emptiness, loss and anger are common feelings. Experience shows that it is important to allow yourself to react and put words to such strong experiences. It will take time and effort to get through the grief over the child, but it will not always be as painful.
